Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 30, 2026 | Last updated: August 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Tow Control Dispatch Corporation (“Tow Control Dispatch,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, retains, and discloses personal information through the Tow Control Dispatch mobile application, website at towcontroldispatch.com, dispatch platform, public tracking pages, support channels, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
1. Scope and our privacy roles
The Services are designed for towing companies, owners, dispatchers, drivers, administrators, motor clubs, insurance organizations, commercial account customers, and people receiving towing services.
Our role depends on the context:
- Information about account holders and website visitors. We generally determine why and how this information is processed.
- Information entered by a towing provider about its drivers, workers, customers, jobs, vehicles, commercial accounts, or other contacts. The towing provider generally determines why that information is entered and used, and Tow Control Dispatch processes it to provide the Services. Privacy requests concerning this information may need to be directed to the towing provider that collected it.
- Public tracking recipients and towing customers. We process information needed to provide status updates, tracking, communications, records, signatures, payments, and related service functions on behalf of the applicable towing provider.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account, identity, and business information
- Name, display name, username, email address, telephone number, company name, business address, service area, provider code, role, permissions, and account status.
- Login credentials in protected form, authentication records, one-time verification information, session identifiers, invitation codes, and security settings.
- Subscription status, plan, billing account identifiers, transaction status, invoice references, and related account administration information.
- Communications, support requests, feedback, ratings, dispute information, and any information submitted in free-text fields.
2.2 Dispatch, towing job, and customer information
- Customer name, phone number, email address, pickup address, destination, preferred repair or drop-off location, and communication preferences.
- Job type, incident type, requested service, source of the request, motor-club or insurance information, claim number, policy number, contract or authorization number, special instructions, internal notes, status, timestamps, estimated arrival, distance, and payout or charge information.
- Vehicle make, model, year, color, license plate, vehicle identification number (VIN), condition, odometer reading, and related roadside details.
- Photos, image metadata, condition reports, documents, certificates, customer signatures, proof of service, and other files uploaded or created through the Services.
- Payment method description, amount due or collected, payment status, collection time, and notes. Payment-card details are processed by our payment provider and are not intended to be stored by Tow Control Dispatch.
2.3 Driver, dispatch, and location information
- Driver name, contact information, role, availability, assigned truck, job assignments, status updates, acceptance and arrival times, performance information, commission or pay records, and work history.
- Precise or approximate device location, including latitude and longitude, location timestamps, route breadcrumbs, pickup and destination coordinates, and distance or route estimates.
- Device and push-notification identifiers used to deliver assignments, reminders, status updates, and operational alerts. Notification content may include customer, vehicle, address, job-status, or dispatch information needed for the alert.
2.4 Fleet, impound, and operational records
- Truck and equipment names, types, make, model, year, color, plate, VIN, capacity, availability, mileage, maintenance, inspection, equipment, certificate, and status information.
- Fuel purchases, gallons, price, total cost, station, odometer readings, expenses, tolls, maintenance costs, and profitability records.
- Impound and storage records, including vehicle and customer details, location, reason, dates, storage charges, release recipient, payment information, lien notices, final notices, state forms, and generated documents.
- Saved addresses, service areas, rate tables, automatic acceptance and assignment rules, business-account records, customer statements, invoices, activity logs, and reports.
2.5 Website, device, and usage information
- Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, operating system, app version, request time, referring page, pages or features used, error and diagnostic records, and security logs.
- Cookies, local storage, session storage, secure device storage, and similar technologies used for authentication, preferences, security, and core site or app operation.
- We do not currently use third-party advertising pixels, behavioral advertising SDKs, or third-party session-replay tools in the Services.
The mobile app does not request access to a device address book. References to customers, drivers, workers, or business contacts in this policy mean information entered into the Services by an authorized user or organization, not contacts imported from the device Contacts app.
2.6 Sensitive information
Depending on applicable law, precise geolocation, login credentials, payment-related data, signatures, and certain vehicle or government-issued identifiers may be considered sensitive personal information. We use sensitive information only for permitted operational purposes, including providing requested towing and dispatch functions, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and with consent where required.
3. Sources of information
We collect information:
- Directly from account owners, dispatchers, drivers, customers, and website visitors;
- From towing providers, motor clubs, insurers, commercial accounts, and other organizations that create or send dispatches;
- Automatically from devices, browsers, app permissions, servers, and use of the Services;
- From payment, mapping, communications, identity, hosting, and other service providers;
- From public or commercially available mapping and address sources; and
- From integrations, application programming interfaces (APIs), webhooks, imports, and files authorized by a user or organization.
4. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, personalize, and improve dispatch, job, driver, fleet, impound, billing-support, reporting, and customer communication functions.
- Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, enforce roles and permissions, and maintain sessions.
- Receive, assign, accept, decline, schedule, route, track, update, complete, document, invoice, and report on towing jobs.
- Estimate arrival times, calculate routes and distances, display maps, verify service areas, and provide navigation links.
- Send SMS messages, emails, push notifications, invitations, verification messages, job alerts, status updates, tracking links, receipts, statements, reminders, and support responses.
- Process subscriptions and payments, maintain transaction records, prevent duplicate or fraudulent transactions, and support billing inquiries.
- Generate operational reports, performance summaries, forecasts, activity records, expense summaries, customer statements, and downloadable files.
- Protect users, customers, Tow Control Dispatch, and the public; detect misuse, fraud, security events, and violations; investigate disputes; and enforce agreements.
- Comply with law, court orders, lawful requests, tax and accounting obligations, insurance requirements, and safety obligations.
- Develop, test, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Services.
5. Driver location information
Driver location is an important operational feature. The current mobile app requests foreground (“while using the app”) location access, not background location access. When permission is enabled, it may obtain the current location and periodically update a driver’s position while the app is in use, including during an active job. Separately, users may submit job-status location updates and route breadcrumbs through active-job features. Location can be used to:
- Show dispatchers the driver’s last reported position;
- Identify nearby available drivers and support automatic assignment;
- Estimate routes, distance, and arrival time;
- Provide job progress and customer tracking updates;
- Maintain route breadcrumbs and operational records; and
- Support safety, dispute review, and service verification.
Drivers can control device permissions through their operating-system settings. Disabling location access may prevent location-based dispatch and tracking features from working correctly. A towing provider may also establish workplace policies concerning on-duty location use. Questions about an employer’s or towing provider’s use of driver location should be directed to that organization.
6. SMS, email, and push communications
We and towing providers using the Services may communicate with users, drivers, customers, and business contacts by text message, email, phone, or push notification. Messages may concern account access, security, dispatch requests, job assignments, driver arrival, job status, public tracking links, quotes, invoices, statements, payments, reviews, reminders, and support.
SMS messages are sent from our servers through Twilio or a similar provider. Mobile push notifications are routed through Expo and the applicable Apple Push Notification service or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging service. Those services may process a push token, app and device information, IP address, delivery metadata, and the alert content. Because alerts may contain operational job details, users should control lock-screen previews through device settings when confidentiality is important.
Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of purchase. Transactional or service messages may still be sent when necessary to complete a requested service or administer an account. SMS recipients may reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help where supported. Users can manage certain push and communication preferences in the Services or device settings.
7. How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:
- Towing providers and their personnel: account owners, administrators, dispatchers, drivers, and authorized workers who need information to arrange and perform services.
- Customers and tracking recipients: limited job status, driver progress, estimated arrival, and related information through notifications or token-protected public tracking links.
- Motor clubs, insurers, and business accounts: dispatch, customer, vehicle, job, status, location, photo, signature, invoice, statement, and completion information necessary to administer a request or commercial relationship.
- Authorized integrations and webhook recipients: information selected by an account owner and transmitted to an external system at that owner’s direction.
- Service providers: vendors that provide hosting, database, file storage, payments, mapping, geocoding, directions, communications, notifications, app distribution, security, and technical support.
- Professional advisers and business counterparties: lawyers, accountants, insurers, auditors, lenders, investors, and parties involved in a financing, merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale, subject to appropriate protections.
- Authorities and others for legal or safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; protect rights, safety, property, and security; prevent fraud or abuse; or enforce our terms.
Public tracking links and invitation links should be shared only with intended recipients. Anyone who obtains a valid link may be able to view the information made available through that link until it expires or is disabled.
8. Third-party services
We use service providers to operate the Services. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Depending on the feature used, these providers may receive identifiers, contact information, payment or transaction references, device information, IP addresses, location or address information, message content, job details, and technical logs.
| Provider or service | Purpose and information involved |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Subscription checkout, payment processing, billing administration, invoices, and transaction status. Stripe receives payment and billing information directly; Tow Control Dispatch is not intended to store complete payment-card numbers. |
| Twilio | SMS and related communications. Twilio may process phone numbers, message content, delivery status, and communications metadata. |
| Resend and email delivery providers | Transactional and support email delivery. These providers may process recipient and sender addresses, subject lines, message content, attachments, and delivery information. |
| Google Maps Platform | Maps, address search, geocoding, place information, static maps, route and distance calculations. Google may receive addresses, coordinates, IP addresses, and device or request information. |
| Mapbox | Directions and geocoding. Mapbox may receive addresses, coordinates, route requests, and technical information. |
| OpenStreetMap and Nominatim | Address and mapping support where used. Requests may include address text, coordinates, IP address, and technical information. |
| Expo | Mobile application delivery, over-the-air updates, device services, and push-notification routing. Expo may process app and device identifiers, push tokens, IP addresses, delivery metadata, and notification content. |
| Apple and Google, including APNs and Firebase Cloud Messaging | Mobile operating systems, app distribution, device permissions, navigation links, and push delivery. They may process device or app identifiers, push tokens, technical information, delivery metadata, and notification content. No Firebase Analytics SDK is currently used by the app. |
| Neon and PostgreSQL infrastructure | Managed database and data storage infrastructure for account, operational, and service records. |
| Cloud hosting, content delivery, and file-storage providers | Application hosting, network delivery, backups, logs, images, signatures, documents, and other uploaded files. Providers may process the content stored and related technical information. |
We may change providers as our Services evolve. We will update this policy when a change materially affects how personal information is processed.
9. No sale of personal information; no targeted advertising
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it to target advertisements based on activity across unrelated businesses, websites, or applications. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 18.
Disclosures to service providers, towing providers, drivers, customers, motor clubs, insurers, authorized integrations, or parties involved in a business transaction are made for the operational purposes described in this policy and are not intended as sales of personal information.
10. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on the type of information, the towing provider’s instructions, account status, operational need, and legal requirements. Relevant factors include:
- Providing active accounts, dispatch history, customer tracking, reports, fleet records, and requested Services;
- Maintaining tax, accounting, payment, insurance, towing, impound, lien, safety, and regulatory records;
- Investigating disputes, chargebacks, fraud, security incidents, and legal claims;
- Enforcing agreements and preserving evidence; and
- Maintaining backups and disaster-recovery systems for a limited period after deletion from active systems.
For an ordinary customer business account canceled through the subscription process, active account records are retained for 180 days after access ends and then become eligible for deletion, subject to retention holds and the exceptions above. Eligibility does not promise deletion at an exact hour. Reactivation before deletion may stop the pending deletion process.
An authenticated account owner may instead request permanent deletion in the app. The active-system deletion process removes the provider profile and login credentials and provider-owned jobs, customers, drivers, vehicles, photos and signatures stored in job records, certificates, accounts, rates, impound records, location breadcrumbs, saved addresses, expenses, fuel logs, statements, and related operational data. A limited deletion audit survives without the deleted account content. Stripe and other vendors may retain payment, fraud, tax, delivery, or compliance records under their own obligations, and backup copies may remain until overwritten in the ordinary backup cycle. Internal service, master-administration, and demonstration accounts used to operate or review the platform are not ordinary customer accounts and are exempt from automated and self-service deletion.
When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, de-identify, or aggregate it. De-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify an individual may be retained and used for lawful purposes. A towing provider may maintain copies of information outside our Services under its own retention policies.
11. Data security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including authentication, role-based access controls, secure transmission, password hashing, session controls, logging, rate limiting, and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for protecting passwords, devices, public tracking links, invitation links, and account access. Please notify us promptly at support@towcontroldispatch.com if you believe an account or link has been compromised.
12. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal information and access or obtain a copy of it;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete personal information;
- Obtain certain information in a portable format;
- Opt out of a sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling decisions;
- Limit or withdraw consent for certain sensitive-information processing where applicable;
- Appeal our denial of a privacy request; and
- Receive equal service and not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.
Business account owners may request permanent account deletion directly in the mobile app by opening Account, selecting Delete account, and confirming with their password. To submit another privacy request, email support@towcontroldispatch.com with the subject “Privacy Request,” or write to the address in Section 16. Describe your request, your state of residence, your relationship to the Services, and the account or towing provider involved. We may verify your identity and authority before completing a request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
If Tow Control Dispatch holds information solely on behalf of a towing provider, we may direct your request to that provider. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law; we may require proof of authorization and verification of identity. To appeal a decision, reply to our response with the subject “Privacy Appeal” and explain your concern.
Because we do not sell personal information or process it for targeted advertising, we do not currently offer a sale or targeted-advertising opt-out mechanism. We will honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals when they apply to processing covered by applicable law.
13. Additional U.S. state privacy disclosures
This section supplements the rest of this policy for residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws, including, where applicable, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. Rights, definitions, exemptions, and effective dates vary by state. Employment and business-to-business information may be treated differently under some laws.

13.2 California notice at collection
The categories of personal information collected, the purposes for collection and use, and the categories of recipients are described in Sections 2, 4, 7, 8, and 13.1. We retain each category according to Section 10. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law, and we do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
13.3 California sensitive personal information
We use and disclose sensitive personal information only as reasonably necessary to provide requested services; verify and maintain service quality and safety; resist fraud or illegal activity; ensure physical safety; secure accounts; and perform other legally permitted purposes. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about individuals for advertising.
13.4 Nevada residents
Nevada residents may submit a verified request to opt out of a future sale of covered information by emailing us. We do not currently sell covered information as defined by Nevada law.
13.5 California “Shine the Light”
California residents may request information concerning categories of personal information, if any, disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing during the preceding calendar year. Tow Control Dispatch does not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
13.6 Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. There is not a universally accepted standard for responding to these signals. Because we do not use cross-context behavioral advertising, our practices do not change based on a conventional Do Not Track signal. We will process legally recognized opt-out preference signals as required.
14. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended only for adults age 18 and older and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to create an account. Information about a minor may occasionally be included by a towing provider or customer when necessary to provide roadside or towing services, but the minor is not an account user. If you believe a child has directly provided personal information to us improperly, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Services, our practices, vendors, or law. We will post the updated policy at this location and revise the “Last updated” date. If changes materially affect your rights or how we use personal information, we may provide additional notice through the Services, by email, or by another reasonable method before the change takes effect where required.
